The Alumina Flat Sheet Ceramic Membrane is manufactured from high-purity alumina (Al₂O₃) through high-temperature sintering to create a durable porous ceramic structure with excellent mechanical strength and chemical stability. Designed primarily for submerged membrane bioreactor (MBR) systems, it provides reliable solid-liquid separation in municipal and industrial wastewater treatment.
Unlike conventional polymer flat sheet membranes, this ceramic membrane features an innovative ceramic glazed sealing technology that replaces traditional epoxy resin sealing. The ceramic sealing structure offers superior resistance to strong acids, high salinity, chlorine-containing solutions, and other corrosive environments, significantly improving long-term operational reliability.
With excellent permeability, low fouling tendency, and a service life of 5–10 years, the alumina flat sheet ceramic membrane is an ideal solution for high-performance water treatment systems.
The membrane operates using an outside-in submerged suction filtration process.
During operation, the membrane modules are immersed in the biological treatment tank. A negative pressure generated by the suction pump draws treated water through the membrane pores, while suspended solids, activated sludge, bacteria, and other contaminants remain outside the membrane surface.
Periodic air scouring and backwashing help minimize fouling and maintain stable filtration performance.

Unlike conventional epoxy resin sealing, the ceramic glazed sealing provides outstanding resistance to high salinity, chlorine, and corrosive chemicals, improving long-term sealing reliability.
The inorganic ceramic membrane withstands harsh chemical environments, including acidic and alkaline wastewater, making it suitable for demanding industrial applications.
The hydrophilic ceramic surface minimizes contaminant adhesion and allows effective cleaning through air scouring and chemical cleaning.
The rigid ceramic structure resists deformation, abrasion, and pressure fluctuations during continuous operation.
Compared with polymer membranes, ceramic flat sheet membranes typically provide 5–10 years of service with significantly lower replacement frequency.
